Back from Sarimun!
I just came back from a 3-day-2-night camp for new Scout Leaders at Sarimbun. In case you didn't know, Sarimbun is the Scout Campsite. It's the place you will go to for Sixer Training and Patrol Leader Training next time.
I've learnt so many things such as outdoor cooking, pioneering, orienteering, games, Scout songs and Scout ceremonies. I hope I have enough time in Term 4 to teach them to you. Here are some photos from my time in Sarimbun. Enjoy!
Happy and proud faces of campers at the end of the camp.
My Patrol campsite. I slept on the left tent. Each Patrol constructed a gateway and fence around their tents.
My Patrol's mascot - Shere Khan the Tiger!
Notice how another Patrol constructed their gateway using a tripod structure. Notice how their poor elephant mascot is being tortured..
We used knots, lashings and poles to make camp furniture such as shoe rack.
This is a simple but useful slipper rack.
This is a hanging shoe rack. Different from the normal type of shoe rack. Creative, isn't it?
We slept in tents for 2 nights. We set up the tents ourselves and pulled them down at the end of the camp. At about 6 a.m. every day, crowing roosters will give us a noisy morning call!
