Happy Founder's Day!

Happy Founder's Day to Scouts all over the world! Job well done to Christian, Noel and Naeson for reading the Founder's Day Message with clarity and confidence (even though it was sooo long!) And three cheers for Derrick and Ziyang for leading the Scout Promise with such seriousness and conviction. The whole school was impressed!





And for those of you who went to the Southeast Area Rally at East Coast - hope you all enjoyed it! Especially for those of you who have never seen other Scout units before - it must be an eye-opening experience to see so many other Cubs, Scouts and Ventures. Through the Rally, you can see the colourful diversity of Scouting but at the same time, you can also see the unity of brother and sister Scouts as we celebrate our Founder's birthday together.

One last thing to write about the Rally - it was really nice to see the old boys again, but this time with their Secondary School Scout units. Wenjun, Zhi Yuan, Daniel, Amos, Wei Han, Bharath, Zhi Shen and Adam - you guys have all grown up and we miss you!

Procyon Lotor

Everyone should have received 2 pieces of our brand new unit badge by now. The badge should be sewn onto your uniforms next to the District badge. This should be done in time for Founder's Day. The other extra piece is for your own personal collection.

By the way, the scientific name for the common raccoon is "procyon lotor". Here are photos from a hardcover book titled Encyclopedia of Mammals.

Next week, you will all get the Proficiency badges (Cyclist, Swimmer, Cook, Road Safety, etc) which you have been owed! Give you 1 week to sew the badges properly for Founder's Day!
